I’m so excited to kick off a new series, the Sunday 3. 🤗
Each Sunday I’ll share 3 things I’m loving, moved by or thinking about—from self-care tips to recipes to anti-racist resources.
This week I’m focusing on end-of-summer things, like a delish twist on a marg and a must-hear new podcast.
Catch a sneak peek of the Sunday 3 on my Insta Stories each week and head to hellogalbraith.com/sunday3 for all the details.
1. A perfect end-of-summer margarita
Tom & I made these margaritas from Camille Styles’ lifestyle site one night, and I think it’s the first time I felt truly refreshed and hydrated after having an alcoholic drink. 😂 That’s the beauty of watermelon: It’s 92% water!
2. A ’90s-style tank top
I’m officially hooked on this tank from Everlane. I love the unique neckline (v ’90s), relaxed fit and soft organic cotton material. Here’s a similar style on & Other Stories (only a few sizes left!). I’m also digging this airy Tribe Alive top from sustainable boutique GALERIE.LA. These are all lovely and breezy for those last few warm days—and then fun to layer with a jacket or sweatshirt as the weather starts to cool down.
3. A nuanced & fascinating podcast, just in time for the new school year
Nice White Parents, from Serial (I’m a huge fan of all things Serial) and The New York Times, brings to light the immense racial inequalities in public education in New York City—and the often unassuming role that nice white parents play in keeping it that way. I can’t recommend this eye-opening podcast enough.
Bonus: Pandemic fatigue is a thing
I think it’s really easy to get lost in the motions of our everyday lives right now—and forget for pockets of time that the pandemic has a very real weight on us. Not having an end in sight is a really tough way to live. I’m constantly reaching for self-care rituals and quiet moments to keep myself balanced.
Take a few minutes to consider, what do I really need to feel good today? Maybe it’s taking a walk. Or talking to a friend. Or watching a movie that always makes you laugh. The simpler the better. We all need grounding moments right now. Tune in and be kind to yourself today.
Here are a few pandemic fatigue resources: this (where I first heard the term) and this.
Until next week, take care of yourself! xoxo, H
