I've fallen out of my blogging (and Instagramming) rhythm over the summer—especially over the past few weeks. The bad: I missed blogging terribly—the being creative, the connecting with all of you. The good: It allowed me to focus all my energy on finding an apartment, moving in and now adjusting to a new space, new neighborhood, new commute, new roommate ;) (Tom and I moved in together.) So thank you for sticking with me through the silence and the erratic posts, it means the world to me.
I got to work with my old coworker and friend, the amazing photographer Carrington King, for this photo shoot. (We shot a few fun outfits together last month, so there will be more amazing photos by her to come!)
The re-worked sweatshirt is hands-down my favorite fall (and winter!) piece. It comes in so many designs, like this lace-up one, or cropped (or super long!) or with ruffles, cutouts, clever graphics, etc. There's a sweatshirt style for everyone, whatever your aesthetic or shape. Plus, they're a comfy, surprisingly pulled-together look for days off and—paired with nice pants, high-waisted jeans or a pencil skirt—they can work for the office, too.
Sweatshirt: Sincerely Jules (and in a pretty olive color here)
(also try: ruffles; lace-up; cropped with boxy, pleated sleeves; off-the-shoulder with back wrap; ribbon lace-up hoodie
P.S. Uniqlo has some awesome surf- and nature-inspired graphic designs like this and this)
Jeans: H&M (similar)
Loafer slides: J.Crew (similar here and here)
This week has been pretty horrific, with the shootings in Las Vegas—as if the devastation from the recent hurricanes and the general unrest around the world (and within our own country) wasn't enough. Sending you all love, and wishing you a peaceful weekend, surrounded by the people (and animals) you love.
Xoxo, Heather
