This is a super simple look broken up (i.e. made a bit more interesting) by the asymmetrical top. I've paired the top with a pencil skirt for work and with jeans, like this, for a night out or running around on the weekend. (By the way, don't worry about all your shades of gray/black matching. I've gotten more lax with that lately because a. I'm all about dressing made easy and b. it makes my outfit appear more spontaneous and laid-back if it's "imperfect" looking.)
Remember how I wrote about losing all the things a few weeks ago? I left a bag behind on the Long Island Rail Road that had a pair of really pretty silver shoes from Asos inside, which I was planning to wear for New Year's. So I went to Marshalls the next day with my mom, because although I had an awesome sparkly dress to wear, I didn't bring any other shoes with me that could possibly go with it. I ended up finding these boots and the moment I saw them, I looked just like the heart-eyes emoji. 😍 They gave my sequined dress an edgy vibe (and I could still easily dance the night away in the block heels). Now I wear these boots allll the time; I love the fur along the top (adds a touch of glam!). I've linked to a site below where they're still being sold, if you're interested!
I've also linked a few other asymmetrical tops, including the one I'm wearing here (now on sale for $30!). Any shirt that makes a simple look more dressed up or cool for day/night is key for me; an asymmetrical cut adds personality to an otherwise "neutral" wardrobe piece.
Three lessons I learned from wearing this pom-pom top... plus, a cool way to layer when you're wearing ripped denim.
The shoes you *need* to survive another crazy cold winter...
It's the winter accessory that keeps you majorly warm... and looks supercool. Almost unheard of!
Snowy winter days call for layers, sleek black booties, and a cool asymmetrical top.
A winter white look mixed with fluorescent-bright mirrored shades (and the coolest fantasy to-do list tee).
Turns out snow in your shoes can actually be quite, er, uncomfortable. Let me explain...
Fur real (or faux), it's the warmest thing (almost as good as a Snuggie) when you're out in frigid weather.
The most luxe-looking fall shade there is.
It's the chicest way to dress when you're in a rush or have no idea what to wear (or you just want to look cool)!
