Maybe for you, sparkle around the holidays is a given. There's something that just screams PARTY! when you wear a glittery outfit.
Or maybe you'd rather wear anything but sequins for New Year's. So, go with it! Go with your mood! Maybe you're feelin' all black, or just a smidge of sparkle, or, er, your favorite PJs.
I haven't gotten dressed up for New Year's and *really gone out* since, oh (this is embarassing), 2012. That fateful night, I went to a local bar/restaurant on Long Island with my sister and two of our closest friends. We all arrived around 10 p.m., and to be honest, at first I was ready to go to sleep. (My bedtime is usually around 10:30, ha!) But I gave myself a mental shake and was like, Perk up! We all had some champagne, and I started to feel better. We met some cool people at the bar, and one of my dear friends might have even kissed one of the guys we'd just met at midnight. It was a fun, magical, silly night, and I'll never forget it.

Try these killer dresses, too... I tried to find ones that are from sites with physical stores, so you'll hopefully have an easier time finding them last-minute!

Asos (a gorgeous maxi dress)
H&M

J.Crew (a shorts jumpsuit with a super sexy back)

So, since this is the first time in a long time I'm going OUT out (I'm actually going back to that same bar that my friends and I celebrated at in 2012), I'm beyond excited to wear this sexy dress from Tobi. What really sold me is the low back—but I pretty much can't wear a bra with it. And while I haven't got much boob action to hold in, going braless still makes me nervous. Plus, when I tried on the dress for the first time, it was too loose and drapey. I tried to return it, but alas, no smaller size was available. (Tobi's customer service was super helpful, by the way. I had bought a small and thought maybe an extra small would fit better.) In the end, the belt was what saved the look and pulled it together. No return or exchange needed after all! For New Year's, I might swap out heels for black flats, just so, you know, I can actually walk. (And DANCE. That's really what it's all about for me!)
I hope you have the most wonderful, joyful New Year's, no matter how you plan to spend it: with your parents, with your girls, with your lover, with your sweet husband and baby, with your cat, with all of the above! Or, by yourself. That's pretty damn cool, too.
I love you all, and I want to thank you so much for reading!
Xoxo, Heather
P.S. If you're celebrating, Merry, Merry Christmas!
